Stylized Character WIP – Project Officer

This is an early WIP test render of a stylized character, created using polypaint only, before retopology and texturing.
At this stage, the focus was on evaluating the overall forms, proportions, and visual appeal of the stylized character, rather than surface details or materials.

Stylized Character WIP - polypainted Test Render

The model was polypainted in ZBrush and rendered in Blender to quickly assess how the stylized character reads under lighting and from multiple angles. This step helps refine the design direction before moving into retopo, proper texturing, and final production-ready workflows.

Zbrush High Spec Meterials Clay Preview

I usually use MatCap or basic materials for initial sculpting while working on a stylized character, occasionally switching to highly specular materials to control highlights. This approach helps me better read and refine secondary forms, adjust contrast, and ensure geometric details are clearly defined throughout the sculpting process.
